Kuwait: A Philippine woman was killed, and 10 others were injured in a collision between a bus and a 4X4 vehicle in Kuwait, a local newspaper reported Friday.
The injured included nine of the bus passengers and the driver of the vehicle, Al-Rai newspaper said. They were transferred to a local hospital.
The collision occurred in the governorate of Hawally, southwest of the capital Kuwait City after the driver of the 4X4 vehicle went past the red light signals, the paper quoted eyewitnesses as saying. There was no immediate police comment.
In recent weeks, Kuwaiti authorities have stepped up a clampdown on road offenses. Last month, Kuwait started using drones to expose violators of traffic rules.
The traffic police have tested the new method that has reportedly proved success in spotting the sites of gatherings, reckless driving, and violating vehicles.
